Confrontation and interaction with non-human others has changed our way of thinking, our aesthetic understanding and our technologies, as well as our language, which is overflowing with zoological metaphors and means of expression. “The wides spread of teriomorphism in art and other layers of contemporary culture testifies to the existential emptiness of urbanized and globalized Western society,” said artist Karin Andersen. Researching, thinking, and analyzing the presence of animals in contemporary art would be valuable, if only to gain an in-depth understanding of how posthuman and non-anthropocentric ideas evolve to change the viewer’s worldview. The exhibition of the group of artists open from October 8, 2021 to December 30, 2021 in the art gallery of Galerija Centrs, 3rd floor.

The exhibition has been created in collaboration with the artist group Butterman – Santa Matule, Ineta Urtāne, Simona Veilande and Renāte Vītola.
